The end of a non-era
So I had my last Economics class ever today -- you know, assuming everything goes according to plan and I never go back to school -- and thus my last week of lectures at university has begun. I'm feeling strangely sentimental about this, although maybe I shouldn't say "strangely" because, let's face it, I go into this same nostalgic love/hate mode every time something ends. I don't know what I'll be doing on this day a year from now, and I have no idea if I'll like doing it. I can only hope I will, but for now, all I have is uncertainty.
(And, evidently, melodrama.)
I have some major catching-up, reviewing, understanding/learning and problem-doing to complete in the two weeks I have off to study. It's actually not that much time, considering how behind I am in everything, but at least I only have four courses and my exams are relatively suitably spaced-out (much like I am myself!). God, I can't wait until school is over. And I also don't want it to end. But I do want it to end, too. Um, basically, I'm conflicted.
The reason I want the school year to end (other than the obvious Yay! School's Over reasons, that is) is because then I can get started into my oh-so-exciting summer plans. First up is
RENT the musical on May 14th, followed by a trip to Ottawa from the 16th to 17th to see Our Lady Peace, followed by a trip to Hawaii with my family for ten days.
In June, I'm going to see the LOTR musical on the 7th, and my university convocation is June 13th, two days before my parents' anniversary. This is followed by a whole lot of nothing other than Canada Day and the release of
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest in July, and a yet-to-be-planned, theoretical trip to L.A. in August. I would find somewhere to travel to in June and July, too, except that it seems like everyone is either working, out of town, or otherwise unavailable.
Anyway -- wow, I had no intention of chronologically outlining the main aspects of my summer plans in an exceedingly long, dull post when I started writing this -- maybe I do want school to end, is my point. Yes, I did actually have a point. My future employer sent me a $5 good-luck-on-your-exams Starbucks giftcard today, which was nice, but I still think they're being nice now so that they don't have to be later. :)
Re: Song Lyrics Meme #4 - Some hints, be they helpful or not. There are...*counts* three songs left that are by UK artists, one from an American, two from Canadians, and one from the
Buffy soundtrack (which, presumably, is also by an American). Also, [most of] the songs that have been identified already have download links there for you to download the songs if you happen to want them. If there's one there that you want and the link's expired, just let me know. :)
